CHARLOTTE -- The Carolina Panthers beat the New Orleans Saints 23-20 on Thursday night, but their win came with a loss.

Linebacker Luke Kuechly was hit hard.

Carolina Panthers Star Linebacker Luke Kuechly was hit in the chest and in the back of his head late in the fourth quarter during Thursday night's game against the New Orleans Saints.

On social media, reaction from athletes and football fans all over poured in.

Former Carolina Panther Roman Harper tweeted a picture of him surrounding Kuechly with his old teammates saying, "First things first, praying for my guy Luke Kuechly."

One man tweeted, "If you love football, you're feeling for Luke Kuechly right now. Hope all is well...Keep Pounding, my man."

And NBA star and Charlotte native Steph Curry tweeted "Keep your head up, number 59. Nobody plays the game harder than you my man...heal up quick...#KeepPounding."

"The crazy thing about Luke, and it's remarkable in a sense, that no matter that the type of hit that he took, he's always thinking football, and he's just emotional. That's how he plays this game," said Panthers' Kurt Coleman.

Panthers fans are praying for the best for Kuechly and hoping everything will be OK.

The Panthers are holding a news conference at 12:30 p.m. Hopefully then there will be more information on Kuechly's status.
