EMERALD ISLE, NC - The head of the Emerald Isle Police Department is stepping down.
Police Chief Jeffrey Waters announced he will retire effective Monday.
The town will host a special reception in his honor on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Emerald Isle Community Center.
