CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Two North Carolina teens are in the hospital after being struck by lightning while in Florida.

Cameron Poimboeuf, 15, of Charlotte, and Jansen Tabor, 18, of Matthews, were on vacation when they were struck by lightning Tuesday afternoon.

Poimboeuf was last listed in critical condition.

Tabor is in good condition and is expected to recover.

Tabor was able to tell police that the two were walking on the beach when a storm rolled into the area.

As rain began to fall, they made a dash for shelter. The next thing that Tabor knew, he said he woke up on the sand after the lightning strike.

The parents of the two teens say they are thankful for bystanders who jumped into action to save their sons' lives.
