CHARLOTTE -- Tim Belk, the current CEO of the popular southern department store Belk, has announced plans for retirement in July 2016.
Tim has served as the company’s CEO since 2004 and started with the company in 1981. He served in roles including store manager, divisional merchandise manager for men's and boys, buyer, senior vice president of human resources and president of stores and real estate.
He will be succeeded by Lisa Harper, former CEO of Hot Topic. She will assume her new position on July 5, 2016.
Belk is based in Charlotte. The company has 293 stores in 16 southern states.
