NORTH CAROLINA - A new report names Wilmington as the top city in the nation for opioid abuse.

The report by Castlight Health, a healthcare information company based in San Francisco, mapped out the top 25 cities in the U.S. for the abuse.

The report analyzed anonymous health data from nearly a million people covered by employer-based health insurance.

According to the report nearly two million Americans are abusing prescription opioids leading to nearly 16,000 overdose deaths each year.

However, Wilmington was not the only North Carolina city to make the top 25.

Hickory was listed at fifth, with Jacksonville at 12 and Fayetteville at 18.
