BOLTON -- Two people are now charged in connection with a 2014 double murder in Columbus County.
Authorities say Justin Reynolds and Meghan Haynes are charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of Jeanette Thut and Donna Gore. The district attorney says Reynolds is Gore's son. The bodies of the two women were found in a storage unit behind Thut's house on Blacksmith Road in Bolton.
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says Thut was stabbed more than 15 times, while Gore was found strangled to death.
"The wheels of justice sometimes grind slowly and there's frustration around that. I want to assure the community that justice never sleeps," said District Attorney Jon David.
Reynolds and Haynes are both being held without bond. Reynolds will appear in court again on Feb. 25.
