NEW BERN -- Gov. Pat McCrory traveled to New Bern to announce 460 new jobs will be coming to Craven County.
BSH Home Appliances Corporation plans to create the jobs over the next five years.
The company will also invest $80.7 million into New Bern location.
In a room filled with political leaders, media and BSH Home Appliance Corp. employees, Gov. Pat McCrory delivered good news.
"BSH Home Appliances is going to be adding 460 new jobs to North Carolina to Craven County and to New Bern," said Gov. McCrory.
BSH is the largest manufacturer of home appliances in Europe. They are now one of the leading companies in their sector worldwide.
"Four hundred sixty new manufacturing jobs in the eastern part of North Carolina is a huge jobs announcement for the entire state," said Gov. McCrory.
He acknowledged BSH employees, whose talent has propelled the company to the front lines.
Nichole Davis is one of those employees. She started at BSH 10 years ago as a temp. Now she's a junior buyer.
"I was like, 'Yes, yes!' It's just amazing to see how it has grown, you know, from me being here in 2006 to 2015. It's fantastic. It's a great feeling," said Davis.
"Now she's moving up and making a very good living and having a great career for her and her family which is just super news for this entire region," said Gov. McCrory.
Gov. McCrory hinted that growth may not stop here.
"You never know, maybe down the road we'll have even more expansion. We're going to continue to try and get this company to continue to expand," said Gov. McCrory.
Once the new jobs are added to BSH, more that 1,400 employees will work out of the New Bern office.
