NEW BERN - The oldest catholic church in North Carolina celebrates 175 years.
An All Saints Choral Festival was held Sunday to honor Old Saint Paul Catholic Church in New Bern.
One New Bern family has ancestors that go back six generations with the church.
"We are bringing the attention of the oldest Catholic church in North Carolina to the attention of all the New Bernians, so that they will rise to the occasion and help us preserve the oldest Catholic church in North Carolina," Margaret Volney, a longtime congregation member, said.
Families and churches gave donations towards preserving the historic church.
