RALEIGH—Transportation department officials in North Carolina say they've been forced to change the schedule for the ferry that operates between Southport and Fort Fisher.

Department spokesman Tim Hass said in a statement that the new, one-boat schedule, started Tuesday. Hass said mechanical issues forced the change.

 

Southport Departure times:

• 5:30 a.m.
• 7 a.m.
• 9:15 a.m.
• 10:45 a.m.
• 12:15 p.m.
• 1:45 p.m.
• 3:15 p.m.
• 4:45 p.m.
• 6:15 p.m.

Fort Fisher for Southport: 

• 6:15 a.m.
• 7:45 a.m.
• 10 a.m.
• 11:30 a.m.
• 1 p.m.
• 2:30 p.m.
• 4 p.m.
• 5:30 p.m.
• 7 p.m.

The normal schedule will resume as soon as a second boat is available.
