NATIONAL - The manhunt for the two escaped killers in New York cost millions of dollars.
Comptroller records state the 23 days spent searching for inmates David Sweat and Richard Matt cost state police and the corrections department about $1 million per day in overtime.
The inmates escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility June 6.
Matt was shot and killed June 26, and Sweat was shot and captured two days later.
Prison worker Joyce Mitchell pleaded guilty to helping the men escape.
She is scheduled to be sentenced in September.
