BRUNSWICK COUNTY- School officials are investigating how a first grade student was left sleeping on a school bus.
Officials say the girl was discovered on the bus Wednesday morning, when the driver returned to Cedar Grove Middle School from dropping students off at Virginia Williams Elementary School.
The bus route starts daily with an early pick up for Cedar Grove Middle School and then a second run for Virginia Williams Elementary School. The bus returns to Cedar Grove after the dropping students off at the elementary school.
The girl was returned to the elementary school where she was evaluated by a nurse and her parents were contacted.
Both the bus driver and the school bus monitor have been put on administrative leave while the investigation in to the incident is conducted.
