A former star of the Big Apple Circus posts a bid to keep the show alive.

Bello Nock is the most high profile person to throw his hat in the ring for an auction of the circus' assets and intellectual property.

He's considered one of the world's greatest clowns and daredevils.

A spokesman says Nock has assembled a team of investors and circus professionals.

The business filed for bankruptcy in November after an emergency fundraising campaign over the summer fell short.

The circus says it is hoping the new owner will carry its mission forward and put on performances again.

The decision on the winning bid is expected to be announced next Tuesday.
