ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Taking care of a newborn can be difficult, especially in light of COVID-19.
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has a new telehealth program in place to assist parents. ROC Family Connects allows parents of newborns to connect virtually with healthcare professionals. Aryana Dykes is 19 and a new mom. She says the program has been very beneficial for her.
"It was also very helpful just to know that I wasn't alone, you know, raising him, because my fiancé goes to work during the day. So having another person that I could be able to talk to about the baby, it was just wonderful," said Dykes.
Right now, the provider has to enroll the mom and baby into the program. The goal is to expand it so more newborns can be a part of the process.
