Jim Gaffigan still has his first garbage plate on his mind, and in his belly. The comedian performed in Rochester last week and reviewed his garbage plate experience with the late night host Conan O’Brien.
"There's no, obviously there's no health department in Rochester, but it was delicious,” Gaffigan said. “Was it good? It was good."
Gaffigan received a dozen suggestions for where to find the best plate. He ended up at Nick Tahou Hots, the birthplace of the famous Rochester dish. He posted the picture on his Instagram.
"It's amazing how far it went,” said Alex Tahou, owner of Nick Tahou Hots. “There's a simple question and next thing you know he's on the radio, opening his act with us. It was a nice compliment."
Tahou says he’s also received great feedback from Gaffigan’s appearance on Conan. He says any publicity is good publicity.
“From the comments he made on the show, he said it was good,” he said. “So, I'm happy with that…can't complain about that."
Gaffigan ordered white hots and meat sauce, mac and home fries, hold the mustard.
