Sarah Rudlang is an Emmy award-winning journalist who joined Spectrum News 1 in April 2021. Sarah anchors In Focus North Carolina, where she covers a range of issues impacting North Carolinians and connects with local policymakers and experts.
As a native Minnesotan, Sarah was excited to swap frigid snowstorms for North Carolina’s beautiful beaches and mountains.
Sarah’s passion for storytelling began when she was four years old, drafting up family newspapers in her small town of Pine River. Eventually, she got her first professional taste of journalism at her local newspaper, The Pine and Lakes Echo Journal.
The news bug bit Sarah hard, eventually leading her to WCCO-TV in Minneapolis where she helped a team of award-winning journalists chase down stories.
Prior to Spectrum News, Sarah worked as a morning anchor in Fargo, ND. When she wasn’t setting her alarm at 11:30 p.m. to produce and anchor the morning show, she snuck out to shoot, write and edit stories.
Sarah has a love/hate relationship with running – but a love-love relationship with food. When she isn’t working, you may find her running on area trails – or checking out local restaurants.
She loves meeting people and sharing the community’s stories! You can connect with her on social media on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and email sarah.rudlang@charter.com.
