Caroline Blair was born and raised in North Carolina and is proud to call the Tar Heel State home. With friends and family from the mountains to the coast, she feels a personal connection when delivering news about the state and its people. Caroline has lived in many other places and enjoys traveling the world, but the welcoming people and inclusive culture of North Carolina drive her passion for providing vital information that helps enhance her audience’s daily lives.

Caroline began her career as a journalist in New York, then made her way to Georgia and Florida before settling back home in North Carolina, where she has spent the last 15 years of her career with Spectrum News.

There have been many proud moments in Caroline's distinguished career. Most recently, she was nominated for a 2023 Emmy Award for her coverage of an inspiring North Carolina woman with ALS, defying the odds to complete a marathon in all 50 states. She also received Emmy nominations the two previous years for her extensive coverage of George Floyd's memorial service, and for her coverage of Coach K's final home game at Duke University.

Caroline and her fellow Spectrum News 1 colleagues were also recently named 2023 Anchor Team of the Year by the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas. Caroline and her co-anchors also earned RTDNAC TV Anchor Team of the Year runner-up in 2022.

Her most vibrant memory, however, was the rare opportunity to sit down for an interview with the late artist and civil rights icon, Maya Angelou. Caroline is also one of the founding producers and anchors of Spectrum News’ “In Depth” interview features, which has allowed her to conduct many meaningful conversations with a wide range of North Carolina’s most important community partners, influencers, politicians, leaders, and celebrities. Caroline has also covered stories making a major impact on the state, including visits from presidents, natural disasters, elections, important trials, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

A very special place in Caroline’s heart is reserved for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s Division 1 Women’s Basketball Team. She attended the university on a full athletic scholarship and graduated with All-Academic Southern Conference honors. She was recently recognized by the university for her outstanding career in delivering fact-based journalism.

Caroline is very active in the community and volunteers for numerous organizations and nonprofits that help veterans, military service members and their families, and local small businesses. She has helped support student success by raising money for scholarships at her alma mater, UNCG. Caroline has also played an instrumental role in helping to raise millions of dollars for a local non-profit organization that provides life-saving medical transportation for children to appointments and procedures worldwide.

Caroline's own world changed in 2021 with the birth of her first son. Caroline, her husband, and son love the beach, skiing, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to new and exciting places.

Outside work, Caroline enjoys a very active lifestyle. She loves to ride bikes, practice yoga, dance, and hike. She also loves cheering on her UNCG Spartans, the Carolina Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, and the UNC Tar Heels.

Caroline considers her audience to be her friends and loves to hear from them. She encourages everyone to follow her on social media. Her handle is @CarolineBNews on all social media platforms, and you can also reach her via email at Caroline.Blair@charter.com.
