NATIONAL -- Justin Bieber found himself stranded in a rural Illinois town Thursday after the air conditioning in his tour bus reportedly broke down following the "Purpose" world tour stop in Des Moines, Iowa.
News of the Beeb's stay sent fans flocking to The Hoffman Mansion, along the Mississippi River in Hamilton, Illinois.
People held signs, waved and joined in a chorus across the street from the mansion, hoping the star would appear.
The city's police chief said Bieber agreed to stay inside the $10,000 a night Airbnb rental to keep fans safe, as the home sits on a busy road.
Still, fans kept hope alive.
“we are just a little justin bieber obsessed, we heard he was here in naveau not too long ago actually and sped all the way down here just to try and see him i guess. Fan girling a lot out of the window,” says a fan.
Despite the setback, Bieber expected to hit the stage in Cincinnati Friday night according to his website.
