Nate Harrington joined Spectrum News 1 in December of 2020. North Carolina's amazing mountains, beautiful beaches and of course, challenging weather made Nate jump at the chance to join the Spectrum News 1 team. 

Nate graduated from Florida State University with a degree in meteorology and hit the ground running, landing his first job in southern Minnesota. From there, he went back down to the Florida Panhandle to work in Tallahassee. Nate was later a chief meteorologist in Dothan, AL before heading up the road to Birmingham. In his 14-year career, he's covered it all, from blizzards to hurricanes, chasing tornadoes and covering crippling ice storms. Now he's looking forward to calling Central North Carolina home and forecasting all the wild weather we see here.

Nate's family is excited to join him on this new adventure. His wife Madison and daughter Evelyn can't wait to explore the restaurants and parks that make this such a great place to live.
