GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. -- A homeowner’s Halloween decoration is drawing a lot of attention and giving police a headache in one Tennessee town.

Police with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department in Greeneville, Tennessee, advised local residents on Wednesday not to be alarmed at the gory display. In a picture posted to the sheriff’s department’s Facebook page, the decoration shows what appears to be a dead body severed by a garage door.

Greene County authorities wrote on the post, “THIS IS A HALLOWEEN DECORATION! Do NOT call 911 reporting a dead body.”

The police later responded to comments on the Facebook post confirming that they had received "numerous calls, all at once, with one caller saying it was 'a dead body.'" They say after rushing to the scene with lights and sirens on, they arrived to find the festive decor.

The officers found the humor in the situation, even advising the public to “congratulate the homeowner on a great display.”
