Spring Breakers will find airfare to popular destinations down slightly this year, according to Expedia.com. Select spots in Mexico are offering an added savings, such as Cabo, Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco coming in between seven and 18 percent cheaper. Cancun flights are just a smidgen less expensive, off one percent from 2014.
Las Vegas, the number one destination based on spring break flight bookings shows airfares down an average of 10 percent over last year.
Los Angeles, the sixth most popular destination for spring break, according to Expedia’s data, offers flights that are four percent below what they were a year ago. Florida hotspots of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa have savings on airfares between three and seven percent compared to last year.
Overall, the best airfare deals for spring breakers are for the less popular destinations. It can be up to 17 percent cheaper than it was last year to fly to Denver over spring break, New Orleans, 13 precent cheaper, while Salt Lake City airfares are down by 12 percent and Chicago off 10 percent.
