NEW YORK, N.Y. – The coronavirus pandemic is impacting sporting events across the country, and the U.S. Open is no different.
This week, the best tennis players from around the world are in New York for the tournament that is like no other before this year.
There are no fans in the stands, and everyone allowed inside has to go through tests, restrictions, and must wear a mask when around others.
However, it still takes a village to produce the shows that fans are now forced to watch online or on TV.
Longtime award-winning North Carolina producer Brian Williams, spoke with Spectrum News 1 anchor Caroline Blair from inside the bubble, to explain how the lack of fans and safety protocols is impacting the production and play of the 2020 tournament.
