Jacob Reynolds is originally from Ocala, Florida in the heart of the Sunshine State. He’s excited to be living in Charlotte, staying in the South, and enjoying the great food! Jacob loves the Queen City, its sports, its entertainment options, and all the other fun things it has to offer.

Prior to joining Spectrum News 1 Charlotte in December of 2020, Jacob worked at the CBS affliates in Columbia, South Carolina and Macon, Georgia. He covered the South Carolina State House, local politics, severe weather, including many hurricanes, and lots of other stories.

Before moving to Georgia, he graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Broadcast & Digital Journalism in 2016.

In the winter of 2019, Jacob’s reporting in South Carolina exposed years of improper county tax spending in Richland County, totalling millions of dollars. Telling stories looking out for taxpayers and holding the powerful accountable is a passion for Jacob and he looks forward to continuing those types of stories.

When he’s not reporting, you can find Jacob playing with his dog, decorating sugar cookies, or watching any kind of professional or collegiate sporting events. He’s a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loves his Syracuse Orange.

If you’ve got story ideas, something Jacob needs to report, or a tip, email him or share it with him on social media.
