There have been a lot of reports recently about something called an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) report released by Duke Energy. It’s filled with dozens of pages with statistics, projections and promises about the future of energy.

While Duke Energy praises its efforts to move away from coal and reach net zero carbon emissions, some critics argue the company is saying it will do more than it is actually doing here in North Carolina and across the utility's footprint. So what does this all mean, especially for customers?

On this week’s episode of “Tying It Together With Tim Boyum,” Tim travels to Duke Energy’s headquarters in Charlotte to interview Katherine Neebe, chief sustainability officer at Duke Energy, vice president of national engagement and strategy and president of the Duke Energy Foundation, and get the scoop firsthand.
