For the last three years Devlin Horton and his partner Nick Mendez of Horton & Mendez injury attorneys have been focused on personal injury cases, especially with drunken driving victims.

“Well, it's Super Bowl Sunday. We know that people like to have a good time. And sometimes plans aren't always made on how to get home. And we just want to make sure that we can help people out, that if they find themselves in that situation, that they have a ride,” Horton said.

“We saw some of the harms that could be caused when people are driving drunk or driving distracted or fatigued,” Horton said.

Super Bowl parties are some of the most popular gatherings for friends and family.

“We launched the Safe Ride Home Program to help stop drunk driving. We've noticed in many of our cases, drunk driving occurs after a major event just like the Super Bowl. So if we can just stop one person from driving drunk and hurting somebody, we'd really consider this program a success,” Mendez said.

The attorneys have seen through their clients the damage drunken driving can cause.

“So those photos that we were looking at back in the office, a rollover crash, happened just right over here. Rear-end collision could hit somebody from behind caused a car rolled over four or five times,” Horton said.
