The Hope Center for Youth and Family Crisis, located in Fuquay-Varina, has been in the works for more than seven years. Crisis Program Director Tammy Margeson is confident this will help kids and families in North Carolina.

"I know that this model works, to have a place where a child and a family can come and get an assessment and a licensed clinician or practitioner can sit down with them and decide what's the next best thing to do," Margeson said.

The center has 24/7, 365-day access to assessment, stabilization and treatment planning in a secure and therapeutic environment. It also offers a mobile response team for the central North Carolina region.

The center started seeing kids and families on Monday.
