RALEIGH, N.C. — Kevin Iannucci's world revolves around movies.
What You Need To Know
It was a big weekend for writers, directors, and actors of the major motion picture "Coda"
The film, which is streaming on Apple TV platforms, took home the award for best picture on Sunday at the 2022 Oscars
The word coda stands for "children of deaf adults"
He has dozens in his personal collection and has watched them all more times than he can count, especially anything that is Marvel.
"It's like awesome to see like the big screen. The sound and everything is truly amazing," Iannucci said.
Over the years, Iannucci, who has Down syndrome, didn't feel represented in any of the characters and storylines. He didn't just want to see characters he could relate to, but play them himself.
And that's exactly what Iannucci did.
The 27-year-old has appeared in three major motion pictures thus far, including "The Best of Enemies," which came out in 2019.
Ianucci's latest movie doesn't have an air date just yet, but it's called "Champions" and stars actor Woody Harrelson.
The actor says he isn't stopping there, he's aiming for that Oscar gold.
"Something I'll say like amazing. Like my dream come true," he said.
Iannucci wants others to know that nothing, especially a disability, should stand in the way of your dreams.
"Just go for it. Do what you're passionate about, keep going for it. And eventually you will get it," Iannucci said
Ianucci's mom hopes people will see Iannucci in these movies and see how capable people with disabilities are.
