NORTH CAROLINA — Gun sales across the state have increased.
According to the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, in August of last year, there were 258 gun permits issued.
In August of 2020, that number jumped to 906.
The big bump is forcing places like Bullzeye Shooting Range to add more carry and concealed classes to their roster.
"We start at 9 a.m. in the morning and we start with our basic NRA pistol course. We cover CP and just the mechanics of handguns," says shooting range instructor Tony Wisyanski.
He follows by saying, in order to secure everyone's safety during the pandemic, each class only carries 12 students.
Before passing the course to receive your permit, students must shoot 30 rounds from three, five, and seven yards.
