WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Carolina Classic Fair is underway, but it looks very different from years past.

Leaders came up with a way to transform some attractions, community service events, and the food into a drive-thru format.

You can donate canned goods, play a couple of games, and order your fair food favorites right from your car.

Fair management says it was very important to find a way to host the event because of its impact on the area's economy and charities.

"I know some other fairs and even the state fair have reached out to us to see how we're doing it, what we're doing, so they can kind of mock their events as a whole," says Fairgrounds Logistic Coordinator Rachel Lough. "To be about to try and put something on, and be successful is a huge thing in our community."

A couple reminders for all fair-goers; organizers encourage you to bring five canned goods to help stock the Winston-Salem Crisis Control Ministry's Pantry and vendors will not accept cash this year, only cards.
