CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. -- Companies are finding unique ways to hire workers without having to bring them in the building for an interview.

On Wednesday, people were given the opportunity to apply and interview from their cars at a drive through job fair in Craven County.

“If you could see the expression under this mask, the pay is awesome you hear me,” said applicant Damien Prophet, who was excited to land a job during the fair in New Bern.

NC Works Craven County and Adecco Staffing Agency teamed together to find employees for Moen Company.

People interested in applying drive up, provide some basic information, and are then handed a tablet where they can begin the onboarding process.

Simplicity is exactly what NC Works and Adecco wanted for this event. Propheet recently moved to North Carolina, and has noticed companies are hesitant to bring people in for interviews.

“Everybody's shutting doors, don't want to bring nobody in. As soon as I got the opportunity to get a job I'm on it, I got children to feed,” he remarked.

Since all of the positions weren't filled during the event. The plan is to have another drive through job fair but, until then, Adecco wants people to apply online.

Prophet is expected to start his new job in the coming days.
