NEW YORK - Several subway lines will be suspended on nights and weekends for repairs this week.
Crews are replacing switches near 14th Street-Union Square and repairing tracks at Canal Street and near Borough Hall.
Trains on the 4, 5 and 6 lines will not run between Grand Central and Brooklyn beginning at 9:30 p.m. during the week.
They won't run between those stops all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
During the first weekend, the 5 will run as a shuttle between Dyre Av and East 180th Street every 12 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes overnight.
The MTA says 4 and 5 express trains will also run less frequently in Manhattan during rush hour.
The work is scheduled to wrap up by September 14.
