The Worcester Public Schools are days away from a reopening strategy. The district is holding virtual meetings on Monday and Wednesday night to communicate fall plans and findings from their reopening survey.

Superintendent Maureen Binienda says they will likely go with a hybrid model where students are in school for some of the days and remote for others. There is an option for parents to keep their children fully remote if they are more comfortable.

The parent survey closes Monday, so Binienda is urging families to fill it out this weekend to get a better sense of how many students will be returning to the classrooms.

Binienda said, “We really want to have the program be the best it can be for all students. Students will be learning new information this year. Grades will be given for the work that students do. We want to address the gaps and we need participation from parents in order for that to happen.”

Binienda says students who are remote will need WiFi access.
