FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- About 250 riders drove their motorcycles from Garner to Cumberland County on Sunday.
They came to a parking lot near the courthouse to add their voices of protest about the death of George Floyd while in police custody.
The event was called "The Unity Ride".
"I served 22 years in the military. Because I love this country. And loving this country...I want this country to give back that love to me," says rider Willie Chattman, who served in the U.S. Army.
Several speakers talked to the group. Some speakers described their own bad experiences when they encountered law enforcement, while others talked about reforms they wished for.
Some came as far away as a Virginia to participate.
"We have been persecuted so long. We have a lot of different nationalities. We just need to come together as one," says Judy Allen, who traveled from Virginia to participate.
Along with the rally, a voter registration drive was also held.
