CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Protests continued across the state on Friday, but one of the street murals has been vandalized.

The “Black Lives Matter” street mural painted by Charlotte artists now has defacing tire marks.

The city shut down the street earlier in the week to give people a chance to see the mural and take photos.

Members of the Charlotte community say the mural was meant to bring people together in unity.

An investigation is in progress.
