What You Need To Know

  • Ivy the Aussie has been painting for five years

  • Ivy's owner, Lisa Kite, has sold her paintings to clients from Australia, Thailand, Germany and beyond

  • Ivy's recent paintings have raised enough money to donate five thousand pounds of food to Second Harvest Food Bank

Ivy the Aussie is an Australian Shepherd in Charlotte, that has learned to paint. Her owner, Lisa Kite, says Ivy is a quick learner and has always loved doing tricks.

Ivy’s paintings have been sold around the world to buyers in Thailand, Germany, France, and beyond. She’s always donated the profits to local charities, like the Humane Society.

Kite says during the coronavirus pandemic, she wanted to help those impacted by the virus.

“I just was heart-broken seeing people lined up trying to get food, just basic things,” she says. “It’s heartbreaking, I can’t imagine feeling that vulnerable.”

Kite decided to sell Ivy’s paintings and donate the proceeds to Second Harvest Food Bank. She says they’ve sold enough paintings to donate five thousand pounds of food to Second Harvest.

“It’s not a money maker for me by any stretch of the imagination, but it's just a really great way for me to able to give back,” says Kite.

Kite says she is taking new commissions, but the list is growing, so it may be some time before you can get an Ivy original. Click here to view available paintings.
