NORTH CAROLINA -- Atrium Health is doing its part to make sure its employees caring for others get the support they need.
The senior vice president for behavioral health at Atrium Health, Martha Whitecotton, says they're making more options available through the employee assistance program.
One option available since the pandemic began is free psychiatry and psychotherapy visits for employees.
Atrium Health says there has been a 30-percent increase in people using the company's employee assistance program compared to this time last year.
"We had an online webinar with a psychologist who specializes in resiliency, Dr. Wanks Oteel and we had hundreds of providers log on to that webinar so again, clear evidence that there's a need and clear evidence that people are taking advantage of opportunities we're affording them," Whitecotton says.
Many of the free programs are also offered to immediate family members of employees.
