As fears surrounding the coronavirus continue to linger throughout the U.S., we're beginning to see a direct impact from the outbreak in the Capital Region. UAlbany administrators say they have canceled their study abroad program in China for the spring semester.
In total, just one student is impacted by the cancellation — which administrators say was done out of an abundance of caution. Officials say the decision was not taken lightly and they're working closely with the impacted student to minimize any potential impacts on their studies.
UAlbany is having their Student Health Services monitor the situation with guidance from local and state health departments to combat any potential illnesses on campus.
