FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating an accident that left one person dead and several injured Tuesday morning.

Around 10 a.m., police say a vehicle carrying a man, woman, and two children ran into the back of a tractor-trailer on Raeford Road near Pinewood Terrace.
Spectrum News crews at the scene say a male passenger was killed, and a woman driver and two children in the back seat were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The severity of their injuries has not been released.
The truck reportedly got bogged down while turning into a construction site, and the trailer was sticking out into Raeford Road. The vehicle carrying the four people then collided with the trailer.
The accident remains under investigation.
