GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Retailers like Walmart and Walgreens have asked shoppers to no longer openly carry guns in any of their stores, including those here in North Carolina.
- This follows a series of mass shooting over the last few months; including one inside a Walmart
- Shoppers with concealed-carry permits can continue to carry their guns
- Retailers will still allow law enforcement officers to openly carry firearms
This follows a series of mass shooting over the last few months; including one inside a Walmart store in El Paso.
Shoppers with concealed-carry permits can continue to carry their guns.
Spectrum News spoke to a local instructor about the new policies.
Richard Talbert, a concealed carry instructor says "At least they're taking a nuanced approach and not prohibiting concealed carry for people who want to conceal-carry in their stores."
However, there are exceptions. Retailers will still allow law enforcement officers to openly carry firearms.
