NORTH CAROLINA -- Blood centers in the Carolinas are urging blood donors to donate now, rather than waiting until after the storm.

Donating before the storm gets here gives hospitals an advantage because it delays potential shortages.

Additionally, donating ahead of time means not having to go out in potentially treacherous conditions after the storm. Plus you never know if you will even be able to get out to a center to donate blood after the storm passes.
