Two young girls are teaming up to try and promote peace in the Queen City.
Nine-year-old Brooklynn Jones and 12-year-old Meo Burgess have been active in Charlotte for years. Brooklynn has been hosting Peace Parties since she was 7 to promote unity in her neighborhood, and Meo has also started holding anti-violence and anti-bullying rallies.
Now, the two are working together to host more activities for the community. They hope to inspire other kids to use their voice to spread love.
"I think we're teaching the adults lessons. And they're supposed to be teaching us lessons," says Brooklynn.
"If we put our minds together, we can do something great for the world," Meo said.
The pair say they are working on planning their next event, and hope to host it in the coming weeks.
