CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Parents in Mecklenburg County are getting a second chance.

Mecklenburg County's Child Support Enforcement Division is helping non-custodial parents get back on track, offering an Amnesty Week to help parents make payment arrangements and seek guidance without the fear of being arrested.

The topic of child support is sometimes a tough subject to tackle as many times those working for the county are having to track people down to get them to make their payments.

The division holds this event every year, but what the agency wants to see is that the children are supported - and get what they need to survive and thrive.

While Amnesty Week is happening now, the agency wants parents to know they are always there to help at any time.
