Greg Walter, Charlotte Motor Speedway General Manager, said while the crowds look different the numbers are good with ticket sales on the rise.

However, he also acknowledged fans needs have changed with people valuing their time and experiences now more than money.

Walter said because of that tracks are putting in fan zones, creating social activities, and having concerts in addition to the races at the track to try and draw in more fans.

Lifelong NASCAR fan, Robert Hess, hopes these improvements will get younger people interested in the races.

Hess said "I think there are plans to kind of get back to old school racing and I'm excited to see what changes they have in store for the next couple of years."
