NORTH CAROLINA -- Six cities in North Carolina are being called the fattest cities in America.
According to WalletHub, Winston-Salem ranks 26th, Greensboro-High Point 32nd, Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia 39th, Asheville 49th, Durham-Chapel Hill 55th, and Raleigh ranks 66th. These rankings are out of a list of 100 cities.
- Asheville was named one of the top cities in the U.S. for having the lowest percentage of obese adults
- Raleigh was named best in the U.S. for having the lowest percentage of physically inactive adults
- Winston-Salem earned the third and Greensboro-High Point earned the fourth spots for highest percentage of adults with high cholesterol
- Winston-Salem ranked fifth in the nation for having the highest percentage of adults with low fruits/vegetable consumption
The methodology was based on obesity and overweight, health consequences, and food and fitness.
