PINEVILLE, N.C. -- Pineville Police are investigating a case of inappropriate touching at Pineville Elementary School.

  • Authorities are investigating a playground incident at Pineville Elementary School.
  • A mother says that her daughter was attacked by another student. 
  • She says she is not sending her daughter back to the school.

A mother said she received a call from administrators about her third-grade daughter.

The woman, who we're not identifying, said her daughter was attacked by another student.

"[They] said your daughter was in an incident on the playground. A little boy tackled her to the ground, forced another boy to put his hand and grab her in her crotch area and as she was trying to get up, the boy that pinned her down, pulled her pants down,” she said.

The mother said she is not sending her daughter back to the school.

In a statement, the school principal said, "The incident is being investigated by law enforcement and the school. Any student who violated the code of student conduct was disciplined according to the code. We take the safety and well-being of our students seriously."
