HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Huntersville police officers are investigating the death of a 4 year old.

Officials say they were notified by the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner's Office about the child's death on Monday. Police say there is an indication that suggests that the death may be the result of a homicide.

The name of the child has not been released and police are not releasing any further details at this time.
