Officials at the Steele Creek and Pineville locations say they're ready to take on patients.
The offices are owned by a group of about 90 physicians who decided to split from Atrium Health's Mecklenburg Medical Group.
"Physicians are funding this, physicians financing this. It's all on behalf of the patients and what we know as a calling of taking care of people. We have a duty to do what we feel is the right way to practice medicine and we're doing it."
The other six offices will have staggered openings through early December.
New patients are still being accepted.
