CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- At least four people have been hurt after a fire started at an apartment complex in Charlotte. 

  • A fire started at the Woodbridge Apartments.
  • At least four were injured.
  • Two of the four were taken to the hospital after jumping from the balcony. 

It happened at the Woodbridge Apartments on Yateswood Drive.

 

 

The Charlotte Fire Department said firefighters were called around 4:30 a.m. Friday and had to call more firefighters to help contain the blaze. The fire in a two-story building was under control by 5:30 a.m.

Firefighters said four residents were treated at the scene and two who had jumped from a balcony to escape the flames were taken to a hospital. None of the injuries were serious.

All 16 units in one building were affected by the blaze. The American Red Cross was talking with the families to see what they needed.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
