NORTH CAROLINA -- The same hot and humid weather pattern that we had over the weekend will stick around through the Fourth of July, creating for minimal storm chances over the next several days. A pattern change by the end of the week could bring a cool down across the region along with better chances for storms.

  • Hot and humid weather pattern will stick around.
  • Monday's weather will mirror Sunday's.
  • Cold front will come in as we get to the weekend.

Monday will be almost identical to Sunday in terms of weather. Expect a hot, humid, partly cloudy day with just a small, small chance for a stray shower or afternoon storm. Highs will, once again, soar into the low to mid 90s across the Piedmont and Triad. Tuesday will be even a tad warmer with more sunshine as some slightly drier air works into the region.

The Fourth of July will be similar to the start of the work week with just a scattered chance for showers and storms. Outdoor festivities should be okay -- it certainly wont be a washout!-- but hot, with highs again in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Sometime Friday into Saturday, it appears a cold front will make its way through the Carolinas. Models are currently showing a nice cool down (finally) with temperatures cooling to 5 to 10 degrees below average, placing daytime highs in the low to mid 80s to start next week. Stay tuned for updates!
