CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte didn't make the shortlist for Amazon's second HQ but now the city is prime for a different investment.
- The city council approved plans for a new Amazon distribution center Monday night
- It would bring 1,500 new jobs with salaries ranging from $25,000 to $45,000
- The project is going through CF Hippolyta Charlotte (Hippolyta means "Queen of the Amazons" in Greek mythology)
The city council approved plans for a new Amazon distribution center Monday night, a $200 million capital investment.
The project would be located on an unused stretch of land surrounded by I-485, I-85, and Tuckaseegee Road, near Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
City council will sell the land for $7.5 million and they're providing $13.4 million in incentives.
It would bring 1,500 new jobs with salaries ranging from $25,000 to $45,000.
Republican Ed Driggs isn't saying much about who's involved but he believes this would be a good move for the city.
