CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Teachers and supporters who can't make it to Raleigh Wednesday, will show solidarity with a march and rally in uptown Charlotte.

The Charlotte March for Students and Rally for Respect is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Ward Park, located at 301 E 7th Street.

Dozens of school districts throughout the state have canceled school on the day of the rally. Organizers say the event is family-friendly and everyone is encouraged to wear red as a symbol of unity
